DIRTDRINKER - playing live at The Carlton Lounge. Dirt never tasted so good. They are from Aberdeen mind.. where the streets are paved with gold and everyone has oil. Lots of it. Didn’t you know?

Wode\ an overwhelming feeling of sorrow, hopelessness, or despair. Almost always accompanied by placing the back of the hand to the forehead and falling into a semi-swoon. More effective when done by a female, though there have been known male occurences.
Scarlett O’Hara: All of Georgia just burned down…wode!
Tom: I really suck at guitar hero. Wode!
They made me swoon with their amazing set at our Albany Road.
No Wode if you book Wode
Playing live for the very first time, COLD FELL started proceedings at Albany Road’s second house show of 2013. With members of Wode, Esoteric Youth and Pine Barrens to name just a few, amazing on paper, blew me away live.
1994! cover that Weezer classic…

Easily one of my favourite bands to come out of Scotland in recent years, (Scotmo.. LOVE) and one of the best live bands around in the scene at the moment. Playing live in their hometown of Aberdeen.. four trains and several hours to see them but you can enjoy them without moving a muscle. Maybe just one.. left click - or any click for all you apple whores. Although that probably involves several complicated motor and sensory functions and you should take a moment to meditate on that fact.. you’re alive, breathing, listening. And the human body is a wonder. Much like Carson Well’s 2012 release, Wonderkid.

I said I’d film the whole WADE set the next time I saw them and I did. It was in Travelling Man comic book shop in Manchester and they looked fucking miserable*. So I filmed them again at the Packhorse in Leeds and here they are. You can see their faces and everything.
*Footage available on request for those of you who like your emo punk rock post post flip flop to be emotional.
Much like the word ‘pronounce’ when you add a ‘tion’, a common utterance overheard at many a show is as follows: is it /plads/… or is it /plades/ ? I believe it’s the former but throw a ‘Plaids played’ into any sentence and you’ve got yourself a tongue twister.
I say /tung/ by the way.. those that /tong/ are just plain weird. Here’s a few tracks from that time they played with 1994! Wade and Well Wisher at the Packhorse in Leeds.
In January 2013 I hasten to add.. so much confusion.
